So why have I decided to focus on traditional weddings?

Firstly, traditional weddings are important. It’s the first gathering where the families get to meet formally, this makes it a pretty big deal.

Secondly, have you ever heard of the saying “Home is where the heart is?”

We have such beautiful diverse cultures and traditions that I’d love to explore. I get to see your homes and connect with your families in their space, in the realist way.

Thirdly, love inspires me. Love between the couple, the families, and the friends… the energy is so uplifting and this is something that I always showcase in my images.

And finally, traditional wedding outfits are beautiful.

“Planning a wedding is so stressfully, from the day you decide on a date, until the last day of the wedding, you only relax on the Monday after the wedding day. It was really great working with Thabang, because she constantly reminded me, this is my day and she will capture it and make it a memorable one, receiving the pics was even more awesome, because I got an opportunity to feel every moment again and feel the experiences of some of the moments I made have missed on the day. And I still get the same feelings every time I pick up the album from my coffee table, it takes me back to that special day.”- Phumzile

“It was a pleasure working with you before the big day and after, alongside the exceptional work you produced - some of the images you captured were truely breath-taking and priceless 'in the moment' images that truely captured what ourselves as the bridal couple or guests were experiencing at the time. Not only are you professional, on-time and take pride is the quality of the end product when taking pics, however, you also have patience and soft skills that set you apart from your peers. When one provided you with the brief of what pics we expected, one did not factor delays from our end and other elements beyond our control. To add, you were cognisant of our backgrounds - SA/Swati and USA/Nigheria. I am eternally greatful to you for your understanding and patience - you got on with the show seamlessly and brought a sense of calm whilst making things a bit fun for us to ensure our day was special and captured accordingly. I thought my stress would have shown but, none whatsoever. Further, you captured numerous special moments at your discretion, and not always staged, without invading one's space that reminded us of our special day. Both ourselves and the guests we showed the pics to said you have a magic touch and that special eye that make you cut from a different cloth.

In closing, its been a pleasue working with you then as well as for our other intimate family events held in 2018 and 2020. It seems you are our resident photographer and always recommend you to my network for personal and professional work. I think this relationship will continue for many years to come and hope the feeling is mutual.”- Thembi

“One of my biggest items on my check list of having an amazing wedding, was having the day captured perfectly, I wanted the images to reflect the emotions of that day. Working with someone I’ve never met was a fear any bride would have. Thabang arrived at my Umembeso and started capturing the real moments that actually happen in the background, the hard working aunties at my backyard preparing the food, the conversations had before the guests arrived to my sunflower centerpieces. She brought life into the images. When we received the wedding album, I was in awe. Every picture, brought back all the beautiful emotions of that day. She exceeded our expectations beyond measure. Her direction and patience is something I appreciated, as one could imagine the whole wedding party was trying to get a picture with the bride and groom, she handled it very well and politely. She’s a true professional, her talent is immeasurable. Her work will be in my family for decades to come and I cannot thank her enough.” - Mbali

“I stumbled upon Thabang R Photography on social media a solid 2 years before I even knew I was getting married. There was something about her photographs that made me certain that I’d want to work with her...one day.

When that day came around I was happy to have her there doing what she is so clearly passionate about. She made us feel so comfortable in front of the camera, and seeing her excitement whenever she’d capture something she loved made us confident that our pictures would be stunning - and they truly are.

Thabang gave us more than just pretty pictures. She gave us works of art!“ - Palesa

“I met Thabang through a friend of mine. I had seen her work via my friend’s wedding and I completed melted at the sight of her shots. They were just unique and of good standard, they told a beautiful love story and this is what I wanted on my special day.

I loved working with Thabang because she listens.it was as though I had known her forever, she is such a friendly person with on par professionalism . 2 weeks prior to my wedding we met to discuss the scope of work, I told her what type of shots I wanted her to take on the day, memories I wanted her to focus on; she understood and immediately got me. Her professionalism is on another level and this allowed to me to relax knowing that she will articulate my love story so beautifully and ooh she did well.

On my wedding day time was of the essence because décor was more than 3 hours late and we had fallen behind on the wedding programme , but when Thabang arrived she kept on saying “ smile and make the most of what you have in the end people wont see that décor was late through the pictures they will see just how happy you were and that is what you want to take from today, we immediately started taking pictures as I was dressing, pictures of the entire environment , the laughter , joy , chanting and almost every little thing that was happening thabang documented ,and she gave me a memory of that day which was absolutely beautiful .  You wouldn’t have known that she was even there and everyone commented on how great they were, ( thabang and assistant) I would definitely recommend her to anyone without a doubt .

Thabang R  photography  captured my special day so beautifully, she gave me more than just pictures she  captured my memories, she  told my love story, and not just any story, she told a beautiful story of my special day, a day that I  will never forget in high resolution images .  A story that I can show to friends and family, my kids when they grow up, and grandchildren someday haha, something that I will always have and treasure forever.

And throughout my entire wedding journey, I learned that flowers will wilt, that cake will quickly be eaten, your invites will be binned after the day or deleted if digital, your dress will be worn once,  rather  focus your budget on things that you may not put importance on, such as a good wedding photography, and that for me is Thabang R photography.”- Kelebogile
