A Joburg-based photographer, visual storyteller and founder of Thabang R Photography.
My roots are in the North West. I was born ko Hebron. Home… is ko Kgabalatsane. I'm a North West baby, raised in Hillbrow.
My journey into photography began in 2014, driven by a fascination with light, people and the stories that exist beyond what we see.
What began as a creative pursuit has evolved into a career spanning corporate events, executive portraiture and creative photography.
Over the years, I've had the privilege of working with executives, organisations and brands, documenting significant moments and creating portraits that reflect the individuals behind the titles.
My background in graphic design has shaped the way I see the world. I'm drawn to composition, detail and the subtle interplay between light and emotion. I believe the most compelling photographs are not simply beautiful; they make you feel something.
I don't photograph people. I photograph energy.
That philosophy guides my work, whether I'm photographing a CEO, documenting an international conference or creating a portrait that explores someone's individuality.
Beyond the camera, I'm passionate about learning, the arts and creating opportunities to share knowledge with others. Mentoring and teaching have become meaningful extensions of my creative journey.
And if there's one thing you should know about me, it's that I'm constantly observing light. Even when my camera isn't with me.
